Be Safe! Let your dreams take flight...
Hello Sky Kids, families and friends!
It is with very heavy hearts that we are announcing the discontinuation of the Sky Kids organization and events. There are a few reasons behind the decision to end Sky Kids, but the primary ones are the growing difficulty to secure an adequate facility at the right time of year for events and the evolving lives of the devoted Sky Kids Board and Team Members.
It has been twelve years and 26 events at three locations in two State since the first Sky Kids Fly Day took place. In that time, over 2,000 Sky Kids and many thousands of family members have enjoyed food, fun, and flight. The Sky Kids mission has always been "dedication to work in cooperation with communities and other organizations to offer disabled and special needs children with a venue to build self-esteem and confidence through the unique experience of flight." This mission was accomplished through many "dedicated and compassionate volunteer pilots and ground support persons along with donations and sponsors making it possible for us to offer the children an opportunity to experience flight in a general aviation aircraft." We have all of you to thank for allowing us to complete our mission!
To all our Sky Kids, it has been an honor and pleasure to provide these events for you.
To all our Pilots and Volunteers, never underestimate the difference you made and the lives you touched.
To all our Sponsors, we could not have done any of this without you and your generous and gracious donations.
